Obituary for Crosby

Frank J. Crosby,"Mr. Terrific", age 85, died Friday, May 2, 2003. He is survived by his son, Dennis Crosby; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and hundreds and hundreds of friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy on January 9, 1999 and his daughter, Dalonna Crosby on June 4, 2001. He was born in Milwaukee, WI and began his career in entertainment as an impersonator in vaudeville with stars like Red Skelton and Sophie Tucker. He served in the Army Special Services and Intelligence Division during WWII. He moved to Albuquerque in 1952 where he promoted the New Mexico Sports Show for 44 years and also Albuquerque's two racetracks, Speedway Park and Raceway Park. His secret to life was"prayer and laughter". He was best known for his generosity, his honesty, his smile and his favorite adjective used frequently when asked how he was,"I'm terrific".
