Obituary for Herrmann

Mary A.Tavasci Herrmann, born to Giacomo (James) Tavasci of Italy and Eugenia Garcia of New Mexico on March 14, 1909, passed away May 14, 2003 at the age of 94. Louis Edward Herrmann, her husband of 42 years, preceded her in death; as did her brothers, Albino, Felix, and Ernest Tavasci; and her sister, Anna Tavasci Salazar. She was a most loving and dutiful mother to her two daughters, Virginia Herrmann Pool and Joyce Herrmann Harte, who survive her. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Richard Pool of Oklahoma, Melissa Pool, Theresa Harte and John Harte of Albuquerque and Patrick Harte of San Francisco, California; three great-grandchildren of Oklahoma, Travis, Tanner and Trevor Pool; two brothers, Joseph Tavasci and wife, Margaret of Albuquerque, Robert Tavasci of Sherman Oaks, California; sisters-in-law, Cleo and Lou Tavasci, a loving God-daughter, Anna Marie Ayala; and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Albuquerque Deanery Council of Catholic Women, a member of the Legion of Mary and at one time, parish president of Sacred Heart Church. She was president of the PTA of Sacred Heart School in 1953 and worked tirelessly in preparing for church bazaars and school functions. The family thanks the Lovelace Hospice and Home Health Care teams, especially health aide, Sharon Sanders for their care and support and caretakers Marie Bedford and Maria Castillo from Catholic Social Services and Araceli Moreno. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 6th and Copper Avenue NW at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2003. Interment follows at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
