Obituary for Fackenthall

Col. Warren A. Fackenthall, U.S.A.F., (Ret.), 94, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003. He is survived by his daughters, Rita Schnedar of San Diego, CA and Georgia F. DeWitz and husband, Gary of Seattle, WA; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Smelcer of Spokane, WA; brothers, Robert Fackenthall of Colville, WA and Allen Fackenthall; and sister, Leota Harke, both of Spokane, WA. Col. Fackenthall was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Fackenthall; daughter, Pat; and grandsons, Clifford and Tim. Col. Fackenthall was retired after 32 years of service in the U.S. Air Force serving in China, Burma, India, Greenland, Eniwetoc and the United States. He worked for Civil Service as a communications liason for atomic bomb testing in the South Pacific for an additional 15 years. During his long and distinguished career he received many honors and awards. Warren was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by all.
