Obituary for Constantine

Christine G. Constantine 59, of Chino Hills, CA died Monday May 12, 2003 at the San Pedro Hospital, San Pedro, CA. Christine was born in Ames, IA to George and Tula (Sakellaris) Constantine. She graduated in 1962 from Ames High School, Ames. She attended Iowa State University and was a graduate of University of Kansas with major in English. She also attended and taught at the Pierce College in Athens, Greece. Christine was a teacher at Paseo High School in Kansas City, MO, then worked as a regional manager for Aramis (an Estee Lauder Company) from 1980-1991. She worked as a special education aide for the Palos Verdes Peninsula School District, Palos Verdes, CA for several years and currently was employed as a special education teacher with the Pomona Unified School District, Pomona, CA and she was attending Cal State in Pomona, for her master's degree in Special Education. She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church and also attended the Greek Apostolic Church in Bellflower, CA where she established many lasting friendships in Christ. Christine was a generous and kind person whose love and selflessness touched many lives. She was loved by many and will be sorely missed. We draw comfort that she is with her Lord and Savior. She is survived by, brother, Jamie Constantine and his wife Ann and their children, Olivia, Victoria and Nicholas, all of Des Moines, IA, brother Dean Constantine of Albuquerque, NM and his children, Paul of San Francisco, CA and Denise of Santa Monica, CA, numerous cousins and their families including Bill & Olga Mickelopoulos of Playa Del Rey, CA, Gloria Loukas of Lake Forest, IL and Chris K. Constantine of Vernon Hills, IL, numerous friends including Dr. Mark & Sharon Minkes of Rolling Hills, CA and Toula Kontouris of Diamond Bar, CA Visitation will be 4-8 pm, Monday, May 19, with a Trisagion Service at 7 pm at Rice Mortuary 5310 Torrance Blvd., Torrance, CA. Services will be 11 am, Tuesday, May 20, at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church in Redondo Beach, CA followed by Makaria (lunch). Additional services will be 10:30 am, Friday, May 23 at Greek Orthodox Church of St. George in Des Moines, IA with visitation 5-7 pm, Thursday, May 22 at Dunn's Funeral Home in Des Moines. will be in the Ames Municipal Cemetery, Ames, IA.
