John Earl Shaski May 4, 1939 - May 6, 2003 John E. Shaski, 64, a resident of Albuquerque and Vermilion, Ohio died Tuesday, May 6, 2003 in Michigan. He was born May 4, 1939 in Joliet, Illinois. He graduated from Lemont Township High School in 1957. John received his BS from the University of New Mexico in 1963, and during his tenure was an enthusiastic member of the Lobo football team. He earned the Col. H.J. Golightly Defensive MVP Award in 1960. He served in the United States Air Force and attained the rank of Captain. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service as a navigator in Vietnam. John was employed by Electronic Date Systems in Troy, Michigan as a Senior Manufacturing Consultant with plans to retire in Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife, Joye, of Albuquerque; son, John Curtis and his wife, Sara; beloved granddaughter, Brigid Anne, all of Enosburg Falls, Vermont; son, Brian Michael of Jersey City, New Jersey; brother, Michael, of Desert Hot Springs, California. Private interment will be held May 27, 2003 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
