Obituary for Callahan

Yvonne H. Callahan, 66, died Friday, May 2, 2003 and J. Patrick Callahan, 67, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, both lifelong residents of Albuquerque. Survived by their daughters, Carla Callahan of Ventura, CA, and Sydney Jablonowski and husband, Brent of Oak Park, CA; grandchildren, Juba, Seth-Patrick, Sabrina, Ashley-Yvonne. They were married on June 15, 1959 and were married for 43 years. They were a loving couple dedicated to each other and their families. Pat was a graduate of New Mexico Military Institute and received his doctorate from the University of Illinois-Urbana. He was the manager of ATL Engineering Services, and a member of the New Mexico Society of Professional Engineers. He loved to remodel houses, he was an avid Lobo fan, and he loved Mexican food, especially red chili. Yvonne was a journalist and a professor at the University of New Mexico. She had a fiercely independent spirit and pursued her education and interests, in spite of obstacles such as multiple sclerosis. She enjoyed genealogy, history and historical places. Both, Pat and Yvonne loved spending time with their grandchildren. Contributions should be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Rio Grande Division, 2021 Girard SE, Suite 201 87106.
