George A. West, 72, passed away May 20, 2003. He was Pastor of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, Albuquerque, from 1970 until he retired in 1993. George will be remembered for his kindness, his insight, and the strength of his conviction in the equality of all people. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathryn. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Long West; daughter, Marie Henkel and husband, Ron Henkel; grandchildren, Emily and Matthew Henkel of Albuquerque; and son, Eric West of Atchison, Kansas. Also surviving are his two sisters, Betty Anglin of Mississippi and Joyce Eason of Florida; a number of nieces and nephews; and many friends who loved him. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on July 13, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, 211 Jefferson NE, 87108. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his memorial fund at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church.
