Obituary for Selby

Lawrence N. Selby (Larry) passed away after a brief fight with cancer. Larry was born in Odebolt, Iowa. He attended Kemper Military School and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He rose through the ranks of the 82nd Airborne Division as Staff Sergeant and was a 1st Lieutenant with the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps in France. After active duty he was a Captain in the Active reserves with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelors degree in General Sciences. He then attended the University of Wyoming and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering. He worked with heavy construction companies around the world. Recently, he worked for Jacobs Engineering Group on its Los Alamos projects. He is survived by many close friends and his wife of 22 years, Michelle; brother, John D. Selby and wife, Marion; his daughter, Stephanie Robertson and husband, Rich; his daughter, Michele Hendrix and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Michele, Christen, Wyatt, Ryan, Eric, Samantha, Shannon and Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Shea and Aerin; niece, Marcia Ozol and husband, Bob; and another niece and nephews. Private family services have taken place.
