Obituary for Nassif

Charles A. Nassif, died at age 56, of an apparent heart attack on his yacht"Old Blue" in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Charlie is survived by his wife, Jan Nassif; son, Chuck Nassif; daughter, Edy Parker; brothers, Fred Nassif and Martin Nassif; and grandchildren, Brittany and Shawna Parker and Anastasia and Troy Nassif. He was a member of one of Albuquerque's oldest families. Charlie graduated from Highland High where he was an excellent basketball player, he continued his education and graduated from Eastern New Mexico University. Charlie served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Vietnam era, was highly decorated, and was a service officer with the VFW. Since arriving in Jamaica, Charlie received his Advanced Open Water Scuba Diving Certification. This brought him very much enjoyment and was one of his newest hobbies. He was a member of the Montego Bay Yacht Club and a Theoretical Physicist for the University of the West Indies. Visitation will be held at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, Wednesday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. One of Charlie's proudest accomplishments was having a record of going 469 days wearing shorts and a T-shirt, which is why visitation is informal, preferably shorts and T-shirts.
