Obituary for Goodyear

Jacob Goodyear, age 12, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday June 12, 2003 following an accident. Jacob is survived by his father, Kenneth Patrick Goodyear of Albuquerque; brother, Jerry Michael Goodyear of Albuquerque; grandparents, Mandy Goodyear of Albuquerque, James Goodyear of Wisconsin and Jerry and Linda Layton of Los Lunas; two special aunts, Rene O'Neill and Jackie Candelaria both of Albuquerque; special friend, Theresa Vigil of Albuquerque; several aunt, uncles, cousins and friends. Jacob attended Taft Middle School and was very athletic playing football and wrestling. He was loved by his teammates and enjoyed his music. A rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 16, 2003 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church 1860 Griegos Rd. NW. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2003 also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Vigil celebrant. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery with Julian Chavez, Thomas Chavez, Desi Chavez, Lawrence Pacheco, Anthony Cassas, Gary Martinez, Jacob Zamora, Max Herrera and Phillip Candelaria, Brandon Lovato serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Adam Torres, Gilbert Torres, Dennis Torres, Brandon Torres, Matthew Candelaria, Lorenzo McManaway, Nick McManaway, Felipe Gallegos, and Isaac Duran. In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a memorial fund setup in the name of Jacob Goodyear and Tom O'Neill in C/O the Rio Grande Credit Union 1401 San Pedro Dr. NE 87110.
