Obituary for Lucero

Natividad C de Baca Lucero, 97, a resident of Bernalillo, peacefully embraced eternal life surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 13, 2003. Born in the Clayton, NM area to a Ranching family in 1905, the family moved to Bernalillo in 1921. Natividad was preceded in death by her parents, Telesfor and Petrita C de Baca; husband, Maximo Lucero; infant daughter, Mary Dolores Lucero; grandsons, Kenneth Gurule and Martin Paul Lucero of Pittsburg, PA, who passed away on July 11, 2003; and son-in-law, Armando J. Gurule Sr. She is survived by her children, Mary Lucy Lucero, Christine Gurule, and Orlando Lucero from Bernalillo, Sadie Padilla and husband, Manuel of Albuquerque, Max Lucero Jr. and wife, Dolores of Las Cruces; a sister, Lillie Apricio of Denver, CO; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 12 nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 Camino Del Pueblo in Bernalillo. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, July 17, 2003, at 10:00 a.m., also at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Lucero, James Lucero, Michael Padilla, Ron Padilla, Armando Gurule, and Robert Lucero.
