Obituary for Cohen

Jane Mosbaugh Cohen died on July 25, 2003 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 79. She was born on March 14, 1924 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Carl F. and Eula Mosbaugh. After their untimely deaths, she was reared by her aunt and uncle, Jay C. and Willie Ruth Wood with their daughter, Frances. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and sang in the Youth Choir. She graduated from Ponca City High School in the class of 1942, and was active in the Orchestra and was a twirler in the band. She received an Associate in Arts Degree from Northern Oklahoma College and attended Oklahoma State University. She was married to Arthur Allen Stevenson in 1945. During their tenure in the Military Service, she was Chapel Organist at several Bases including ones in England and Guam, and also taught piano. At the time of his death in 1981, the were both Realtors in Northridge, CA. On May 24, 1985, she married Joseph Cohen, a retired Air Force Captain. For the past eleven years they have lived in Albuquerque. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Cohen, and her extended family, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cohen, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sherwin, and six grandchildren. Other survivors include her cousin, Mrs. Frances Thompson of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and her son T. Jay Thompson; her nephew Ralph Stevenson of Albuquerque; her sisters-in-law, Mrs. Nila Stevenson and Mrs. Maxine Raulerson and her husband, Bill Raulerson, three nephews and one niece. Also surviving are three cousins in Nashville, Tennessee, Mr. Jack Odom, Mrs. Jennie Wright and Mrs. Emily Farmer. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. at French Mortuary Wyoming Blvd. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. French Mortuary 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE 823-9400
