Obituary for Ortiz

Frances S. Ortiz, age 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1991, died Saturday, August 23, 2003. She is survived by her husband, Felix F. Ortiz of Albuquerque; daughters, Jean Garcia and husband Tom of Albuquerque, Joanna Serabia of Cape Canaveral, FL; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sisters, Lydia Nuevo and husband Manuel of a La Verkin, UT, Catherine Smith of Reno, NV, and Eleanor Bushnell and husband Howard of Kona, HI. Frances was preceded in death by her son, Robert Valente and her brother, Tony Brun. Frances was born and raised in Hawaii and exuded Hawaiian and Polynesian culture. She was the best cook in the world. Frances was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Rosary will be recited Sunday, August 24, 2003, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE with Sister Eileen Jaramillo reciting. Mass will be celebrated Monday, August 25, 2003, 10:00 a.m. at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Cremation will follow services with a private family internment at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
