Obituary for Lucero

Procopio Lucero, 91, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away after a short illness on Monday, August 11, 2003, a month prior to his 92nd birthday. He is survived by his daughters, Isabel Lucero Cummings of Los Alamos and Felo Cortez of Albuquerque; son, Luis Lucero of Mesa, AZ; grandsons, Bob Cortez of Albuquerque, Chuck Cummings of Los Alamos and Mark Lucero and wife, Yvonne of Phoeniz, AZ; granddaughters, Celia Cortez-Gentner and husband, Tom of Santa Fe, Karen Young and husband, Dan of Los Alamos and Angela Lucero of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Eloisa Alires and Romona Gonzales, both of Albuquerque, Antonia Martinez of Santa Fe and Lucia Flores of California; and three great-grandchildren, Tristan, Geovonni and LaReina. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eusavia Lucero, in 1976. Mr. Lucero was born to Rumaldo and Catalina Lucero on September 11, 1911. Formerly of Santa Fe, he retired as a plumber from Zia Co. in Los Alamos in 1977. He was a member of NM Pipes and Trades Local 412, for over 50 years. He was also a member of Union Protectiva. Mr. Lucero had a great sense of humor, was loved by all, and had a close relationship with God, his family, friends and the earth. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, August 12, 2003, at 6:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd, Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, August 13, 2003, at 10:00 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Father Richard Olona, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, Tuesday, August 12, 2003, from 5:00 p.m. until time of Rosary.
