Obituary for Aragon

Edumenia M. Aragon, age 53, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, companion and friend was welcomed into the arms of the Lord our Savior, July 30, 2003. Edumenia was a life long resident of Cuba. She was preceded in death by her parents, Basilio and Pumucena Aragon and Jose and Edumenia Montoya; a brother, Nick Montoya. Edumenia is survived by her companion of seven years, Ildefonso (Poncho) Ruiz; two daughters, Norma and Yolanda Valdez both of Las Vegas, NM; her granddaughters, Dominique, Randee, La Rae, Merikka Crespin, MaKayla and Mya Valdez, and Lea Bustos; brothers, Celedonio Aragon and wife Dorrella, Flaviano Aragon and wife Drucy, Benancio Aragon and wife Beverly, Fidencio Aragon and wife Julia, Merced Aragon and wife Dee Dee, Fred Aragon and wife Lucy, Feliciano Montoya, Daniel Montoya and Leroy Montoya; sisters, Carmen Montenegro, Emma Garcia, Eufircina Zaplin, Perfectita Chavez and Gloria Montoya. Edumenia will be greatly missed by her family and by those who knew and loved her. Visitations will be held Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Cuba Presbyterian Church, in Cuba, NM; where Evening Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Final viewing will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by Funeral services at 11:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at the Cuba Presbyterian Cemetery in Cuba, NM. Casket bearers will be Anthony Montoya, Ruben Aragon, Randy Crespin, Jeremy Bustos, Pat Aragon, Jr., and Herman Santillanes. Honorary bearers will be Peter Cebada, Aaron Archuleta, Paul Cebada, Eddie Saiz, and Steven Aragon. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, monetary contributions may be made to the Edumenia Funeral Fund, c/o Cuba Credit Union, P.O. Box 1660, Cuba, NM 87013.
