Obituary for Pons

Max Pons of Heron Lake (Rutheron) NM, Tijeras, NM and San Jose, Mexico, died peacefully at home on August 3, 2003. He was born on November 4, 1933 in San Antonio, Texas. He joined the Air Force and moved to New Mexico in 1953. He owned a service station in Albuquerque for 20 years. He then spent most of his time at Heron Lake or San Carlos and San Jose, Mexico. He is preceded in death by his former wife, Mary Ann Pons. He is survived by his son, Jim Pons; and daughters, Beverly Rhea, Diana Meade and husband, Kenneth Meade; grandchildren, Danny Rhea, Leslie Rhea, Lisa Moore, Jessica Pons, Jamie Pons, Jamie Pons, Rachel Pons, Steven Walker and Jennifer Walker; great- grandchildren, Anthony Duran, Gage Rhea, Malachi Moore and Anna Pons; his brothers, Joe Pons, Robert Pons, Kenneth Pons, Pete Pons; and sisters, Lilly Heaner, Barbara Blue, Lynn Anne Prince; and hundreds of friends in both the United States and Mexico. He is remembered for his warmth, Generosity, humor and hospitality. He is loved by all. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Community Church of the Sandias in Sandia Park, NM. Officiating will be Rev. Jim Cunningham.
