Nellie Montiel, age 77, died on Thursday, September 4, 2003. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tranquilino Chavez. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, three sisters, and one brother. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Casa Angelica. A wake will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Therese Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, September 8, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. also at St. Therese Church. Burial will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park. Casket bearers will be John Valencia, Raymond Chavez, Jesus Gomez, Matthew Austin, Joseph Austin, Steve Montiel.
