STONE, MIKEL KENTON Age 51, a resident of Wolforth, Texas passed away very unexpectedly on February 6th, 2015. Mikel was a graduate of Belen High School and Texas Tech University with a degree in Sports Medicine where he played football and ran track. He earned his Masters Degree in Sports Physiology from The University of New Mexico and a teaching certificate at Joliet Jr. College. Mikel excelled in many areas including management of Pro Gym in Albuquerque and Norseman Bone and Joint in Lubbock and formed his own company, Norseman Construction in Wolforth, Texas where he was also a Certified Welding Inspector. Mikel enjoyed Bodybuilding, Rugby, playing and coaching Football including coaching for the Lubbock Renagaids, a semi-pro football team. He especially enjoyed hunting with close friends and was a hunting guide in New Mexico, Colorado and Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, William Taylor Stone; grandparents, William and Dorothy Stone, Ralph Leslie and Nora Bell Chilton. He is survived by his Mother, Jean Stone; son, Erek Stone, daughter, Whitley Stone; his kids mother; Sue Stiniker; sister, Debi Gardner (husband Mack); nephew, Dakota Gardner; niece, Mackenzie Gardner. Services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel beginning at 11:00 am. A reception will follow at Noblin Funeral Service reception room.
