 DAMRON, LILLIAN MAE Age 91, a life-long New Mexican, died Tuesday, February 10, 2015. She is survived by her children; Thelma Gaston and husband, Jerry of Los Lunas, NM and Shirley Damron of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Cari Kaiser and husband, Chris of Los Lunas, NM, Brandon Gaston and wife, Jen of Fredericksburg, VA, Misty Damron of Albuquerque and Mike Damron and Tiffany Jones of Seiling, OK; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Cai, Calliope, Caterham, Kaya, and Evan; and numerous other relatives and friends. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Damron, in 2002; and siblings, Gladys, Lois, Everett, Ralph, and Lorene. She was born in 1923 in Capulin, NM to William and Cora Parker McQueary and graduated from Kiowa High School in 1941. Lillian attended Eastern NM College, Highlands University, and in 1944 graduated from Central Bible Institute, Springfield, MO, where she loved to play basketball. She received her certification as a teacher in New Mexico and taught in Capulin, NM until meeting Bud. They were married on June 12, 1948. They moved to Albuquerque in 1955 and she went to work at J.C. Penneys where she retired. Lillian was a long time member of Highland Assembly of God and Tramway Community Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 60 years. She wanted the children to know that "Jesus loves them." Lillian enjoyed helping Bud at Roadrunner Little League and loved watching Lobo Basketball. She was a loving mother, grandmother and "GG" and will be missed by all who knew her. Family and friends may visit Monday, February 16, 2015, 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. at FRENCH Lomas. Services will be Tuesday, February 17, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at Tramway Community Church, 4800 Tramway Ridge Dr. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens Cemetery.
