Obituary for SMITH

SMITH, JUDITH KAY COLE Age 71, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on December 22, 2014. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, David Smith; her two children Jennifer Rosenbaum and husband Marc of San Diego, CA, and Jeff Smith and wife Lisa of San Francisco, CA; her three grandchildren Carter and Cameron Rosenbaum and Ainsley Smith. Judi was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico on May 15, 1943 to Claude Franklin Cole and Opal Stoker Cole. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1961 and graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science in Business Education in 1966. She went on to obtain a Master of Arts from UNM in 1979 and spent over 30 years leading and teaching business education programs in New Mexico, Arizona and California. Judi was an amazing teacher and made a difference in hundreds of students' lives, especially thru her leadership as an adviser to high school students in Future Business Leaders of America. She was an avid reader and writer, loved to cook, travel and work on home improvement projects. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor will be missed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24 at 2:00 pm at the Trinity Family Church located at 6101 Paradise Blvd, NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity Family Church.
