 SMIGIELSKI, BARBARA ANN BOCKSTAHLER Barbara passed from this life peacefully on January 15, 2015 in Albuquerque. Born on April 13, 1926 in Detroit, she attended Principia College, then graduated from the University of Michigan and retired from the Northville (Michigan) District Library prior to moving to Albuquerque to be with her daughter, Laura. She is predeceased by her parents Frieda and Edward Bockstahler, her husband Leo Smigielski, brother Edward Bockstahler and his wife Betty; and her son, Stephen Smigielski. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Smigielski Garcia and husband, Phillip; niece, Caryl Bockstahler Knoche VanderRoest and husband Wil, plus much loved great nieces and nephews and other family members. Barbara's family is grateful for the care which she received from the many loving staff members at St. Theresa Health Care & Rehabilitation facility. A memorial service for Barbara will be held at Acacia Park Cemetery (Southfield, MI) during the summer where she will be laid to rest next to her husband and son. Details on the service will be announced at a later date. Barbara was an avid reader, so the family asks that contributions be made in her name to the Northville District Library Endowment Fund, northvillelibrary.org/index.php/ participate/giving-to-your-library
