Obituary for CLENDENIN

CLENDENIN, CHARLES "CHUCK" M. Age 88, a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away on January 10, 2015. He is survived by his sons, Michael B. Clendenin and wife, Isabel and Bruce Clendenin and wife, Krissy; and grandchildren, Carrie Clendenin and Neil Clendenin. Charles was preceded in death by his son, John C. Clendenin; first wife, Betty Lou; and second wife, Earla Margaret. Charles was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. After graduating from high school he enlisted and proudly served his country with the United States Army Air Corps from 1944-1946 as a tail gunner with the 8th AF, 401 Bomb Group. Following his time in the service he met and soon married Betty Lou Lewis. In 1952 they moved their family to Albuquerque, NM where they built a life and raised their children. Charles retired from Sandia National Labs in 1986 following 32 years of dedicated service. He found time to volunteer with many organizations including, the Boy Scouts and the Y Indian Guides. He will be remembered as a bit of a flirt with a lot of charm and for always being ready to help anyone in need. Services will be Tuesday, January 20, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas.
