MILLER, LEVI WILLIAM Born March 25, 1929 in Kalona, IA, went to be with the Lord on December 27, 2014, after succumbing to cancer. He is survived by Arlene, his wife of 18 years; his step-children, Dennis and Tillie Poper, of Albuquerque, and Michele and Chris Johnson, of Las Cruces; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Levi is also survived by five siblings: brother, Eddie (and Dorothy), Freeman (and Mary), Ezra (and Mattie) and sisters, Susie and Katie all of Kalona, IA. Preceding him in death were Levi's parents, Noah and Elizabeth Miller; his brother, Truman (and sister-in-law, Lovina); stepson, Kenneth Poper, and Levi's first wife, Lydia. Levi served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1954, reaching the rank of Sergeant. He was an accomplished carpenter for more than 40 years and resided in Albuquerque since 1964. He loved fishing, reading and sports. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH University. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Albuquerque. Levi believed in supporting charities that help build better lives. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Supportive Housing Coalition of New Mexico, Care Net, AmberCare or the American Red Cross.
