ALLEN, MARY LEE CASSELL (MYRNA) passed away on December 26, 2014. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her family and friends knew she was always available to lend a sympathetic ear and sound advice. She will be greatly missed. Mary Lee was born in Tomahawk, WI on October 9, 1933 to George and Nellie (Orcutt) Cassell. She was an elementary school teacher, teaching grades Kindergarten through 2nd. She loved teaching children, often assisting them as a reading tutor after she retired. Her husband's job afforded her many opportunities to live in different parts of the country including New York, Minnesota, Texas, and New Mexico. Of all the places she lived she considered New Mexico to be her adopted home. She enjoyed travelling when she was able visiting relatives and friends alike, she was always happy to return home to Albuquerque and the beautiful Sandia Mountains. Mary Lee is survived by her husband, Norvan; daughter Noel Allen-Force; son-in-law Daniel Force; and granddaughter Alexandra Force; and by her sisters Mrs. Jean Tuttle, Mrs. Betty Thorson and brother Dr. George Cassell; as well as many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and cousins. The family has honored her wishes of a cremation and no services. In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Mary Lee's memory to the Animal Humane Society of New Mexico animalhumanenm.org.
