VARGON, EDWARD G. Age 91, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014. Truly one of America's "Greatest Generation," he was born in Kansas City, KS in 1923. The son of Russian/Polish immigrants, he weathered the Great Depression, enlisted in the Army in World War II, used the G.I. bill to get a degree from Kansas State University, and went on to become vice president of the Control Data Corporation in Minneapolis, MN. He managed to live the American dream. He is survived by his son, Michael J. Vargon of Santa Fe, NM; grandson, Anthony E. Vargon of Lynnwood, WA. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
