SPENCER, ALFRED JOHN Age 78, a resident of Albuquerque, died December 11, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Spencer; son, Alan Spencer and wife, Barbara; daughters, Lynne Wood and Lori Spencer; grandson, Jordan Wood; granddaughters, Rachel Wood and Maya and Emily Spencer; sister, Janet Spencer; and nephew, Gary Spencer. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, William and Bertha Spencer, and brother, George Spencer. Alfred was born in Reynoldsville, PA on May 28, 1936. He graduated from Altoona High School and enlisted in the Air Force in 1954. While in the military, he attended the University of Maryland. He received a Joint Chief of Staff Commendation Medal at the Pentagon and a Bronze Star in Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force in 1974 after 20 years and attended the University of Albuquerque, where he received a bachelor's degree in Accounting. Alfred worked for the IRS as a Revenue Agent until 1990. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. The family thanks the staff of Mi Casa at La Vida Llena for their loving care and support.
