MILLER, JON DAVID a resident of Albuquerque since 2004, passed away December 2, 2014. Jon was born December 17, 1938 in Enid, Oklahoma. He was the husband of Maryann M. Miller and the father of John F. Foster, Robyn A. Foster-Souder, Jeanette M. Foster-Nance, David M. Miller, Rebecca L. Miller-Moore, and Deborah M. Miller-Healy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Fredrick Miller and Muriel Frances Miller of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, his sister, Linda Miller-Fenton of Egham, Great Britain, and his grandson, Nicholas Fox of Fort Worth, Texas. He is survived and loved by his wife and children, his children-in-law, Nora Foster, Robert Nance, and David Moore, his grand-children, Christopher Foster, Stephen Foster, Joshua Souder, Sarah Souder, Joy Howard, Julie Zielinski, Daniel Nance, Nathan Miller, Stephen Miller, Anthony Trotter, Gabriel Trotter, Eric Humphrey, Candiss Bates-Harp, Michael Bates, Katherine Bates, and Destini Healy, their spouses, nineteen great-grandchildren, his brother-in-law, Eric Fenton and nephew William Fenton. Jon was an adventurer, explorer, and eternal student. He immersed himself in the many cultures in which he lived, absorbing their language, traditions, and history. Prior to Albuquerque Jon lived in Kameoka, Japan; Terrell, Texas; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Greenwich Village, New York; Casper, Wyoming, and Fort Meade, Maryland, where he served in the US Army. Always the advocate for the disenfranchised and down-trodden, Jon was an active member of his local food pantry. "We are in the business of feeding people not storing food," he was known to say. The family requests that in lieu of flowers gifts be given to Casa San Miguel food pantry, Albuquerque, or your local food bank. Jon will be interred at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe during a private ceremony.
