SCOTT, JEANNE Jeanne Scott, 93, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, passed away in Chippewa Falls, WI on Friday, November 14, 2014. Jeanne was born on September 7, 1921 in Ventura, California. She met and married her high school sweetheart, Jack C. Scott in Ventura. They were married in 1941. Jeanne earned a BA in elementary education at Santa Barbara State. She did not pursue a teaching career, but focused on becoming involved with family life. As the wife of Colonel Scott, a Marine Corps Veteran, Jeanne helped the family adjust to the frequent moves in Jack's tours of duty. A devoted wife and beloved mother, she was always excited about each new place and made it into a home. Jack had a distinguished military career. In the late 40's he worked with the RAF in England, Carolina, he was a Naval Attache in Jakarta in the 50's, and he was on the Joint Chiefs of Staff in NORAD in the 60's. Jeanne had a wonderful imaginative spirit. She loved to read and write-including poetry. She published some articles in magazines. She also did watercolors. Both Jeanne and Jack loved nature and the outdoors. They gave their children a love of nature and the wonders of earth. The family moved to Albuquerque in 1968, where Jack retired. Jeanne enjoyed the deserts and mountains of New Mexico, and was especially drawn to the beauties of the changing landscapes in the Jemez. Jeanne lived in Albuquerque for 47 years. The last few years of her life she resided in Chippewa Falls, WI to be near her daughter Dianne and son-in-law Pete Dawson. Jeanne will be reunited with her husband of 52 years. She is survived by her daughter Dianne (and Pete) Dawson, of WI; daughter Lynn Scott from Albuquerque; son Greg (and Patty) Scott of CO; granddaughters Laura (and Steve) Jester, WI, Crista (and Scott) Becker, WI, Elizabeth (and Kevin) Donaldson, of CO; and grandson Tim (and Andi) Scott of TX. Her great-grandchildren are: Megan, Sophie, and Elizabeth Jester, of WI, and Alyssa Scott, of TX. The family will have a memorial service celebrating Jeanne's life, in January in Albuquerque. Jeanne will always be cherished by those who knew her.
