MCGUCKIN, JAMES T. II Dr. James T. "Jim" McGuckin, 89, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 1, 2014. Jim was a loving and generous man who had an uncanny ability to create a unique and adventurous life. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Gay McGuckin; son, Tom McGuckin and wife, Suzanne; daughters, Susie Fisher and husband, Gary, Marcee McGuckin, Amy McGuckin, Caty Hanson and husband, Gordon; grandchildren Emily Kelley and husband, Chris, Claire Fisher-Drumond and husband, Miguel, Thea and Carly Hanson. Dr. McGuckin was born and raised in Sundance, Wyoming. He graduated from Creighton University Medical School in 1946. He served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War. Jim was a prominent Ophthalmologist serving Albuquerque and patients throughout New Mexico for over 35 years. He was an avid skier, serving on the Board of Directors of Taos Ski Valley for over 55 years. He was a visionary and a passionate rancher, aviator, golfer, hunter, fisherman, and voracious reader. Above all, he loved his family, his home, and sharing his life with them and his many friends. Dr. McGuckin's life will be celebrated on November 28th, 11:00 a.m. at French-University Memorial Chapel with a reception to follow.
