 PICKERING, JOHN M. (JACK)  John M. Pickering (Jack), age 98, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 20, 2014 in Rio Rancho. Son of Maylin Joseph and Nell Pickering (nee Pontz). He was the beloved husband of the late Gudrun Gisela (Gundi) Pickering and brother of the late William B. Pickering and the late Emilie Brandhorst. He is survived by his sons David and Philip and by his grandchildren Bryan and Emmi. A memorial will be held Saturday, November 15th at 1:00 PM in the Pottery Room at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, 2401 12th St. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87104. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wild Friends (wildfriends.unm.edu), Defenders of Wildlife (www.defenders.org), Veterans for Peace (www.veteransforpeace.org), or the New York Civil Liberties Union (www.nyclu.org).
