THOMPSON, EDWARD M. Edward Thompson, age 61, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away on June 25, 2014. He was born on March 19, 1953, in Chicago to James and Patricia Thompson and was one of six children. He grew up in Morris, Illinois, and was a standout on the Morris High School Redskins football and track teams. Edward was offered a scholarship to play football at Eastern New Mexico University, where he attended 1975-1977. He lived in California for several years before moving to Kansas City, Missouri, to work for United Parcel Service. Edward was preceded in death by his father James and his brother Bruce. He is survived by his mother Patricia; brother Andrew and wife Colleen and son Cameron of Rapid City, South Dakota; sisters Virginia Thompson and Jo Anne Murphy and son Russell Sandlin, all of Santa Fe; and his sister Grace and daughter Rachel Bujewski of Albuquerque and son CPT Kurt Bujewski of Fort Hood, Texas. We will miss him. A private celebration of life is planned for Saturday, November 1, at the family home.
