Obituary for ROSS

ROSS, LILA F. Lila Franklin Ross, 89, passed away peacefully October 27th in her daughter's home. Lila lived her entire adult life in Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, the Reverend Cannon Edmund P. "Ned" Ross and her son-in-law Robert "Jeff" Kelly. She is survived by brother Major George E. Franklin, Ret. of Albuquerque; children Lynn Dee Kelly, Steve Ross and wife Angel Wells Ross, Georgianne Norris, Robin Jakino and husband Mike Jakino, and Leslie Burgess and husband Bob; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great- grandchildren. Lila studied voice at UNM, sang in a USO Trio during WWII, was an accomplished pianist and church soloist for more than 40 years. At UNM she was an Alpha Chi Omega and stayed active as an alumna. Music was a key part of her life and she passed her love of music onto her family. She was an active member of Sigma Alpha Iota musical sorority. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 1st at 3:00 pm at St. John's Cathedral. In lieu of flowers please feel free to make a donation to the charity of your choice in honor of Lila.
