 CALCAGNO, SALVATORE Age 96, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM, passed from his life on Sunday, October 26, 2014. He came to Rio Rancho from Deer Park, NY in April of 1975. He is preceded in passing by his wife of 61 years, Mary. He is survived by his three children, Constance DeCerbo of Kings Park, NY, Tom Chappell of San Diego, CA, Paul Calcagno of Rio Rancho, NM; three grandsons, Damian (Lindsay) DeCerbo, Jason (Amy) DeCerbo, Anthony (Kristen) DiCerbo; five great-grandsons, Mason, Caleb, Blake, Cody and Austin. He served in the US Army from 1941 through 1945, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant in the CBI Theater. A very civic minded man, Sal was a life member in the Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department, Deer Park, Long Island, NY since 1953. He served on the original Rio Rancho Honor Guard, and was a 61 year member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post 5890 in Rio Rancho. He will be missed. A Viewing and Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm through 9:00 pm with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, October 31, 2014 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
