MONAHAN, JERRY B. Jerry B. Monahan, 83, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on October 20, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jeanette Monahan; his son, Patrick; and daughter, Patricia Kalb, and her husband, Jeffrey; and two grandchildren, Marie and Brian Kalb. He was born on May 11, 1931 and was a lifetime resident of Albuquerque. Jerry graduated from Albuquerque High School and the University of Albuquerque and obtained a Master's degree from the University of New Mexico. He served proudly in the US Air Force as a cryptographer, stationed in Japan during the Korean War. He strongly believed in education and was an elementary and middle school teacher for Albuquerque Public Schools for more than 30 years, having taught at Duranes, Mission and Kennedy schools. Jerry was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Jerry cherished life in so many ways and will be deeply missed. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Ave. NW in Albuquerque. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE.
