LANEY, ROBERT GERALD Robert "Bob" Gerald Laney, age 70, of Albuquerque, NM passed away October 15, 2014 in Albuquerque. Bob was born September 27, 1944 in Walsenburg, CO where he was reared and attended schools. He volunteered for service in the United States Air Force & retired in 1972. In 1984 he married Kathleen D. Laney the joy of his life. After retiring from the Air Force, Bob completed college and worked for the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Energy's Office of the Inspector General retiring again in May 2001 after 37 years of Government Service. His dedication to helping others led him to volunteer in many ways, and through that, he touched many lives. Bob is survived by his wife Kathy; his brother Jack Laney and wife Michele; his children Ann Smith; Robert Peltzer and wife Kim; Tina Gonzalez and husband Ed; his niece Nicole and nephew Christopher; four grandchildren, Alicia and Brianna Smith and Caleb and Dakota Peltzer; one great-granddaughter Emma, that we will welcome into the family in a couple of weeks; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Westside. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jorge Delgado, Danny McGillivray, Don Tenant, Mike Ford, Jim Pallas, and John Schwartz.
