MONKEWICZ, VICTOR LUCAS Age 71, of San Angelo, passed away peacefully from natural causes on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at his residence in San Angelo, Texas. A Prayer Service will be on Saturday, October 18, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum Chapel, 1900 Edith Blvd NE. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Victor was born on February 1, 1943 to Anthony and Barbara (Moore) Monkewicz in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He served in The United States Army Reserves. Victor worked as a systems analyst at a financial institution until he could no longer continue. Victor had been disabled since 1970, but stayed constantly busy around town with dining out, enjoying sporting events, movies, clubs and his church. He moved to San Angelo in the mid-eighties to be closer to his mother and family. Victor was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus and a devoted member of the Lions Club. Victor was an inspiration to all those with whom he came in contact. He impressed us all with his positive attitude, faith, joyful spirit and sense of humor. He will be missed! Victor was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and two brothers. He is survived by his brothers, Terrence and Thomas; nieces, Heather, Sara, Deborah and Pamela; nephews, Matthew, Stephen, Martin, and Peter.
