PEREA, SAM B. A longtime resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 NM, at Age 88. He was born on June 15, 1926 to Estevan and Lupita (Baca) Perea of Albuquerque, NM. He proudly served our country during World War II in the US Army Air Corps. He was a hardworking plumber and carpenter who touched the lives of many people with his kindness and respect for others. Most importantly, he loved his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tomasita Perea; children, Nancy McGeagh, Steve Perea, Sammy Perea and Patricia Cabrera; grandson, Gene Lopez; sisters, Carmen Anaya and Lorenzita Madrid and brother, Tom Perea. He is survived by his children, Virginia Jaramillo of Albuquerque, NM, Lee Perea and wife, Dora, of Albuquerque, Ronnie Lopez and wife, Bernadette of Rio Rancho and Charlene Aikins of Houston; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Lucy; and many nieces, nephews and other family members who will mourn his passing. Viewing and Visitation will be held from Wednesday, October 15, 2014 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Prayer Service to follow at 11:00 AM at Strong-Thorne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave SE, Albuquerque, NM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at 3:00 PM at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe.
