Obituary for KOZIOL

KOZIOL, JANA Jana Dale Beemer Koziol, age 73, passed away September 28, 2014 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born to Dale and Ruby Beemer on January 9, 1941 in Gary, Indiana. She graduated from Indiana University with a Master's degree in early childhood education. She was a member of the 1961 class of Sigma Kappa at Southern Methodist University. In 1968 she married David Koziol of Hobart, Indiana. They moved across country to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1978 with their two daughters. Throughout her career Jana taught in various schools both in Indiana and New Mexico touching and influencing the lives of the students and parents she encountered. One of her most remembered achievements was opening and serving as Director of the Montgomery Preschool starting in 1980 through which she educated young minds throughout the Northeast Heights for more than a decade. Her cheerful outlook touched the lives of all who met her. She will be remembered as one of the kindest people they knew. Jana was an avid reader and loved gathering knowledge from all the books she collected especially mystery stories about the land she loved, the Southwest. Jana is survived by the daughters she loved so deeply: Louise Koziol and Julie Golden (Thomas); twin grandsons Ty and Garrett; brothers Dennis Joe Beemer (Angela), Bruce Roy Beemer (Anna); niece Leisa Beemer Hamidi (Abtin); nephew Ryan Dale Beemer (Jennifer); and cousin Judy Wood Trump (Jerry). A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 14 2014 at Covenant United Methodist Church in Northeast Albuquerque at 11:00 am.
