Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Tuesday October 07, 2014

YOSHIMOTO, HENRY (HANK) Henry (Hank) Yoshimoto, 87, died at home after an 18 month battle with bladder cancer. He was born in Pocatello and raised in both Idaho and California. During WWII, he and his family were in the Gila, AZ internment camp. After the war he moved to Chicago where he met and married his wife of 60 years, Lily. They moved to Albuquerque, NM where Hank worked as a heating and air conditioning repairman. After his retirement and the death of his wife he moved to Las Vegas to live with his daughter. He enjoyed shows at the Starbright Theater and the Smith Center but his true enjoyment came from bowling on his Sun City Summerlin leagues. Even during his chemo and radiation treatments his one concern was whether or not he would be able to continue bowling. He is survived by daughter Patricia Torino; brother Fred Yoshimoto (Marie); sister-in-law Yo Yoshimoto; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be on Thursday Oct. 9, 11am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Dr. Las Vegas 89128. Contributions may be made in Hank's name to The Orion Foundation, 400 N. Stephanie St., Suite 300, Henderson, NV, 89014. 702-952-3350.
