 CHAVEZ, CORINE MALDONADO was born December 29, 1926 in Albuquerque, "Atrisco", New Mexico. She passed away Monday, September 29, 2014 at the age of 88. Corine will be remembered as a loving and caring, mom and grandmother who also loved to cook and dance. As well, she was a dedicated and long-time member of the Catholic Church. Corine was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Rosarita Maldonado; brothers, Antancio and Eddie Maldonado; sisters, Lucia Maldonado and Beatrice "BB" Chavez; son, Richard Martinez; daughter-in-law, Ruthie Maldonado and grandson, Simeon Maldonado. She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Julian Chavez; brother Tony Maldonado; children, Frank Maldonado, Dolores Strange and husband LD, Peter Maldonado and wife Loretta, Steve Chavez and wife Andrea, Julian Chavez Jr., Lori Solis and husband Manuel; 24 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; as well as many other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at St. Josephs on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Josephs Ave. NW. on Monday, October 6, 2014. A Rosary will be recited at 8:15 am with the Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 9:00 am. Peter Maldonado will serve as urn bearer. Burial will then take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15 pm.
