Obituary for LIBBY

LIBBY, JACQUELYN OPAL Age 80, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 and is now at peace in eternal life with Jesus, her Lord and Saviour. Our very dear and gracious "Jacquie", mother to the motherless, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend will be missed and her memory cherished. She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Weaver; daughter-in-law, Catherine Bailey; brothers Stephen and Raymond Filan; her grandsons Donovan Siler and Clint Aull; granddaughters Katrina Shutco and Tanya Smith; and great-grandchildren Adrian and Jacqueline. She is survived by her step-children Dale D. and Rex Libby, Tracie Conlee, and Bonnie Libby Greff. She is also survived by several more grandchildren and great-grandchildren and special family friends Cherie Hymes, Gale O'Brien, and Linda and Dean Pershall. Jacquie is preceded in death by her late husband, U.S. Army Special Forces Master Sargent, William Dale Libby (retired), her son, Richard W. Siler, and daughter, Sheryl June Libby. Jacquie held a Master of Arts Degree in Social Studies and Secondary Education from New Mexico State University. She retired from teaching elementary school with Albuquerque Public Schools. She also worked many years as a social worker, placing children for adoption, with the State of New Mexico. She volunteered for many different organizations a few being Zia Chapter Special Forces Assn, Joy Junction, and ARCA. As per her wishes, a Rosary will be prayed for the Repose of the Faithful Soul of Jacquelyn Libby on Saturday, 20 September at 3:40 pm at the glorious Shrine of the Little Flower-Parish Church of Saint Therese of the Infant Jesus located at 3424 Fourth Street NW, Albuquerque. Mass of Resurrection to follow immediately at 4:00 pm at this Saturday Vigil Mass which was her Catholic Community and at which she always served. In lieu of flowers, donations to Shrine of the Little Flower-Parish Church of Saint Therese is preferred.
