Obituary for O'CONNOR

O'CONNOR, ROBERT Robert O'Connor is survived by his wife of 28 years; five children; two step children; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He served six years in the Air Force during the Korean War before going to work for Grumman. He was assigned to work on the Apollo Program and helped put the first man on the moon. After retiring from Grumman, he developed his own book of business selling insurance and annuities as a financial planner. He loved sports, especially baseball. He played fast pitch for many years here in Albuquerque and later played Senior Softball as a short stop. Robert had a wonderful, personable disposition, and great sense of humor. He was greatly loved and admired by so many and will be deeply missed. He will hold a special place in our hearts forever. Friends may visit Friday, August 22, 2014, 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. The Funeral service will follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Interment will follow the services at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
