 GOMEZ, ROSE age 89, born in Veguita, NM, and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away at home with her family at her side. Mrs. Gomez is survived by her children, Bertha Lujan and husband, Roy, Ernest Gomez Jr. and wife, Ofela, Barbara Chavez and husband, Alfred, Daniel Gomez and companion, Betty Silva, David Gomez and companion, Faby Amezquita, Virginia Orellana and husband, Manuel, and Lorraine Garcia; grandchildren raised by Rose and Ernest, Ron Gomez and Amber Garcia; sister-in-law, Mary Gomez; twenty-two grandchildren; forty great- grandchildren; twenty-two great-great- grandchildren and two on the way; nephew, Raymond Gomez, and wife, Cecilia; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Gomez was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Gomez Sr. Visitation will be Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final visitation will be Friday, August 1, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until 12: 30 p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church, 2401 Broadway SE with a Communion Service to be celebrated at 12:30 p.m., Deacon Edgar Torres, presider. Pallbearers will be Robert Lujan, Gilbert Lujan, Alfredo Chavez III, Lawrence Chavez, Ron Gomez, and Martin Garcia Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Derrick Gomez. Interment of cremains is scheduled for Monday, August 4, 2014 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. The family would like to thank all of the health care providers who cared for Rose.
