SCHLEICHER, ROBERT F. II 1928-2014 Robert F. Schleicher, II, age 86, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away in his home on Wednesday, July 16. He was a member of the VFW, and Masonic Lodge in Huntington, Indiana, the National Contract Management Association, earning his CPMC designation and Fellow Awards, and a long time Baptist.On May 12, 1928, Robert was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Robert and Marian Schleicher. He was educated there and upon graduating from its high school, entered the U.S. Navy at the age of 17, serving in China and Japan during WWII. After completing his naval enlistment, he returned to Ann Arbor before attending Tri-State College in 1949. On July 2, 1950 he married Ada R. Freed of Corunna, Indiana. In 1951, he graduated from TSC with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. In 1971, he obtained his Master's Degree in Business from New Mexico State University. Most of his adult life was spent in the field of Federal Procurement, either working for the government or industry, dealing with contract management. He retired from the Federal Government in Albuquerque in 1988. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marian Schleicher, and daughter, Roberta Carbajal. He is survived by his wife, Ada Schleicher, two daughters, Carole Caswell and husband Robert of Los Lunas, NM, Christine Roath and husband Mark of Granbury, TX; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and sister, Christine Hutchinson of Camano Island, Washington. Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Los Chavez, on Saturday, July 19, beginning with a funeral service at 3:00 p.m., officiated by Brother Boyd Morerod and Dr. Mark Roath.
