HOSTETLER, DOLORES "DEE" Dolores "Dee" Hostetler, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away suddenly on July 5. She was 79, but still so young at heart and her absence will leave an empty spot in the hearts of those who loved her so. Dee was born in Los Lunas, New Mexico on January 15, 1935. She moved with her family to Albuquerque in 1943, and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1953. With her late husband Vern she was owner of Dutchman Florist in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho; they also owned and operated the very popular Polynesian Inn. She also worked for many years at the Albuquerque Board of Realtors. A force of nature her whole life, and even into her later years, she continued to stay busy within her community, and with her family and friends, bringing much pleasure and laughter to those she encountered each and every day. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Vern Hostetler, and her sister Amelia Gonzalez. She is survived by her daughters Roxann Liccione Stewart and husband Sean; Carla VanDyke-Franco and husband Johnny; her sister, Carmen G. Cover; her brother, Pedro Gonzales; her grandson, Kristoff VanDyke; her nephew, David Kelly; her niece, Patricia Kious and husband Michael; and great-nephews, Josh Kelly and M. Ryan Kious. She was a constant source of joy and comfort to her family and her irreplaceable memory will stay with us every day of our lives.
