Obituary for CHAVEZ

CHAVEZ, MELESENDRO (SENDITO) Melesendro Chavez Jr. (Sendito) (Mel), age 82, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 7, 2014. He was born on March 5th, 1932. He was a U. S. Army veteran. He will be greatly missed by his family and everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents Nicholasa Padilla Chavez and Melesendro Sr; his sons, Johnny, Daniel and Michael; several brothers and sisters. Sendito is survived by his most loving wife Margie; his son Michael and wife Danette; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Tellesford and wife Shirley, and Joe; many newphews, nieces, and cousins. Sendito was known for selling chili, beans and corn from his brown Dodge pickup. He never met a stranger; he was generous and good to everyone. Special thanks to his son Michael who took great care of him in is failing health this last year. He was a member of the Church of the Ascension Catholic parish. Visitation will be at 6:00 PM followed by the Most Holy Rosary recited by Rita Sanchez on Friday, July 11th at 7:00 PM. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 12th, at 10:00 AM, followed by interment of cremains at Pajarito Cementary with full military honors. All services will be held at the Ascension church at 2150 Raymac Rd. SW. Everyone is invited after the burial for a reception at the parish hall of the Ascension.
