Obituary for MOORMANN

MOORMANN, DINAH THOMAS Born November 29th, 1921, U.S. Army TSGT WAC who typed the original "Cease Fire Orders" of World II while stationed at SCAEF Allied Headquarters earning her the Bronze Star passed away March 7th, 2014. Originally born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Dinah enlisted in the Woman's Army Core "WAC" at the height of World War II where she was excepted into "Officer Training School" but was instead reassigned to SHAEF Allied Supreme Headquarters under command of General Eisenhower eventually located in Versailles, France. Dinah enjoyed the military life and was very proud of her service including as a recruiter in Des Moines, Iowa. Dinah and her GI husband whom she met and married while stationed in Frankfurt, Germany returned to Omaha and began to raise a family. Later Dinah and her husband with children moved to Ada, Oklahoma before eventually relocating to Albuquerque, NM. Dinah, while raising four children alone, worked for numerous law firms as an executive secretary and was well known for her keen wit, sharp tongue and expert legal knowledge. Dinah eventually retired, remarried and traveled regularly throughout the U.S. by way of motorhome. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and family, her children and grandchildren and all of her close friends. She loved reading mystery books, quilting and especially playing cards. Dinah was a fantastic mother, sister and wife. She was a wonderful leader who always cheered you on and encourage you to do your best. She believed you should live life to its fullest and give thanks for every day your here. Her strong will power and unique sense of humor will sadly be missed by all of us who knew her. Missing you so much on this very special day. Mom we love you and miss you so! I miss you so! Happy Mothers Day
