TURTLE, JAMES "JIM" July 26, 1936 to April 21, 2014. He was born in Niles, MI to Alice (Schau) and Edward Turtle. James was raised in Niles, MI and Tampa, FL. Jim married Jessie (Swaim) on December 21, 1957. They were married until her passing on November 17, 2013. He served 26 years in the Air Force, retiring in 1980. His military career sent him all over the world, including one year in Viet- Nam. James is survived by his children, Jamie Turtle and wife, Jill of Niles, MI, Tammy Tackett of Del City, OK, Cindy Sawyer and husband, Mark, of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren; Christie Moore, Lenzy Gilles, Lauren Tackett, Caitlin Turtle, Thomas Sawyer, and Alexandra Turtle; great grandchildren, Isabella, Jaxson, and Emma; brother, Edward and wife, Patsy; sisters, Donna Ochenryder and husband, Herb, JoAnn Flock and husband, Jack. Funeral Service with Military Honor Guard will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8600 Academy Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM, 505-821-1993.
