Pat fought the good fight, he finished the race and kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7). Pat passed away in the early morning of Friday, March 21, 2014 at home after a two week hospitalization. Pat passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on what would have been his son Dion's 47th birthday, and a few hours after the start of spring, the season of new life and renewal and Pat's favorite time of the year. He was already planning his garden and had plans to fix his well. Pat was owner and operator of Romero Building Maintenance for 45 years. He loved his work and always said God gave him that job. He was a volunteer firefighter for Belen for 25 years. Pat relished in the joy of going dune bugging with Matt and Libby, Norbert and Oly and a host of other friends. He loved to make people laugh and had a special talent to do just that. He loved life and always lived to the fullest. Everyone Pat called a friend was special to him and he "would climb the highest mountain" for any of them. His most fervent desire was always to share God with others and pray for the salvation of those who did not know God. God was Pat's best friend and he was not ashamed to let others know that. Pat had the faith of a child, oh that we all did.
