TAVASCI, JOSEPH ANTHONY age 97, was born on August 6, 1916 in Albuquerque, NM and passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014 in Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Tavasci; son, Mario Tavasci; parents; two sisters and four brothers. Joseph is survived by his daughter Margaret Tavasci; Sons, Alex and Mark; nine grandchildren; nineteen great -grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was a long time resident of Albuquerque, NM, born in 1916 to James and Eugenia Tavasci. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army and was a WWII Veteran where he received the Purple Heart medal. He was a great baker and will be remembered as a great man and wonderful father and grandfather. Services will be held at Holy Family Parish, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 with a Viewing to begin at 8:00am. A Rosary will be recited at 8:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00am. Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30pm with U.S. Army Honors. Pallbearers will be Mario Tavasci, Dominic Altamirano, Jacob Trujillo, Nikko Tavasci, Michael Ray Tavasci and Joshua Tavasci. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marcos Tavasci, Josiah Tavasci, Elijah Tavasci, Giovanni Tavasci, Mario Tavasci Jr., Joshua Morse, Anthony Castro and Robert Trujillo.
